When one’s life is suddenly, and often dramatically interrupted, what can be done? It is not uncommon to respond in fear, anxiety, despondency, and even despair when our life plans are detoured, or in some cases destroyed. I confess to having experienced all of those emotions, and many others as well. I can say with great certainly that none of those thoughts and emotions improved my situation, nor did they solve any problem. Perhaps the best advice that could be given any of us is that which Paul gave to the Corinthians, “…stand firm in your faith.”
